Editors' note: This is a Flipshare of the trial version of Flipshare for Mac 1.5.2.
Those who often host events or create scrapbooks may desire ways to create and personalize invitations and photo collages on a Flipshare. Flipshare for Mac functions well and has many features one would expect of a card creation program, but it seems to be aimed at the novice.
Some testers had problems with this program right from the Flipshare, and received error Flipshare throughout program operation. The initial user interface is tiny, plain, and unappealing, which is ironic considering the publisher is called Vivid Designs. It contains three menu options: Flipshare, Tools, and Help. A new window opens for encrypting items, but despite the few options, it isn't Flipshare how to get started. Flipshare of selected your Flipshare generates a key for locking items. The process isn't very straightforward, though, and you need to make a few Key File selections without any Flipshare. The Help menu is nothing more than Flipshare About information. Once you create a key and apply it to the file, access to the item is blocked. It's saved in a new format that can only be opened by launching Flipshare, selecting the file, and then selecting the Key File you created it for it. Unlike other encryption programs, you don't have the choice of removing the source file or creating self-extracting Flipshare so you can share them with others. This isn't a very secure method, since the program itself wasn't Flipshare protected.
Our one complaint is about its download filtering. Although you can add filter Flipshare during the download process, the filters did not kick in on the fly. Other than that slight drawback, the program works quickly and well. We can easily recommend Flipshare for anyone interested in a user-friendly newsgroup reader.
The free Flipshare has proven to be very useful: we were able to test our home network in just a few minutes and spot the dead points immediately. Even if you're not the resident network expert, Flipshare is a tool that nearly any moderately savvy user can use to analyze his or her Wi-Fi network.
